In August 2025, ANP President Pablo Genta, along with his leadership team, conducted a working visit to the ports of Paysandú and Fray Bentos, engaging with local authorities, civil society, academic institutions, and logistics stakeholders. In Paysandú, discussions with CIPUP, CARU, UTU, and UTEC focused on reviving traditional cargo flows—such as sugar, soy, rice, and malt—and exploring new regional production chains. In Fray Bentos, meetings with municipal leaders, educators, club representatives, and the Río Negro Logistics Development Committee (CoDeLog) covered strategies to boost port operations, including tourism-linked activities around the waterfront. ANP emphasized that their approach is not about making promises, but about listening and collaborating to integrate these ports into the national system—alongside Nueva Palmira and Montevideo—within a multimodal transport framework aimed at enhancing competitiveness, reducing costs and transit times, and improving logistical efficiency.
