In the first half of 2025, the Port of Santos reached a historic high in container throughput, handling 2.8 million TEUs, up 7.8% year‑on‑year and cementing its role as Brazil’s top logistics hub. June itself set a monthly record with 511,200 TEUs handled, a 16.3% increase over June 2024, despite a slight decline in overall cargo volume. Imports and coastal trade grew by 1.2%, while exports dropped 1.7%, largely due to reduced solid bulk shipments. The port's share of Brazil’s foreign trade climbed to 29.9% in June, the highest in four years, underscoring its leadership and validating ongoing expansion efforts including channel deepening to 16m, port area expansion, and the Tecon 10 terminal concession auction.
